Conrad Pfeifer, has been diving for over 30 years and teaching scuba for 25. He is originally from Pittsburgh and is now a resident of the Cranberry Township area. As a former Scuba Center owner he now specializes in more advanced /technical specialties such as cave and technical/deep diving to those who desire to explore. Conrad is Sunken Treasure Scuba Centers' current PADI Course Director and also trains other dive professionals in a myriad of instructor level programs.
In conjunction with NOAA and the Cambrian Foundation, Conrad was one of a select number of divers permitted to document and dive the ruins of the civil war ironclad, USS MONITOR. He has been involved with the survey and recovery of the propeller, engine and smaller artifacts from 1995 to 2001. He has also been on several expeditions to the ANDREA DORIA, the ocean liner that sank in 1956 in a collision with the STOCKHOLM, and the armored cruiser USS San Diego which was the largest war ship lost by the US in WWI. In addition to these historic dives he has been a part of an exploration team that travels to the Yucatan Peninsula Mexico for underwater cave exploration.
Closer to home, he and his fellow divers visit Lake Erie and its hundreds of pristine, intact shipwrecks several times a month during the warmer part of the year. Contact Conrad
