    The answer is:The BSAC has been involved in scuba diver training since 1953 and was recognized as the official training agency in the UK in 1954. The training standards set by the BSAC were subsequently adopted by national training agencies worldwide. In the 1980s PADI developed easier training methods that were better suited to holiday destinations and took over as the leading diving training agency.

  • What country is famous amongest divers for the largest Blue Hole (sink hole) in the world, measuring 1,000 feet in diameter and reaching 440 feet in depth?

    The answer is: The Blue Hole is not for the weak harted. The entrance is at about 110 feet deep; deeper than recommended for the recreational diver. Belize also has the second longest barrier reef in the world, only behind the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Although Jacques Cousteau invented the aqualung in 1943, the first true self-contained underwater breathing unit was developed in 1877 by Henry Fleuss. It was a far cry from the diving gear in use today, though.
